Alhambra- Building J: Science Rooms
The Building J science room renovations were first identified as a priority when increasing numbers of students registered for chemistry and biology courses at AHS. In order to offer classes like AP Chemistry a language class was relocated and the room was renovated to fit the needs of a science class. This included replacing old desks with tables to promote collaborative and project based learning.
As new standards were introduced and the science program grew once again, the need was clear for another reorganizing of the J Building. A language lab was relocated to the F Building replacing an unnecessary computer lab and the Special Education classroom was relocated to the new K Building. These classrooms were converted to fit the needs of the science department and the existing science rooms were renovated including new furniture and technology.
